Applying for The Nicest Job in Britain

This is my biggest and best challenge yet…

I have applied for the Nicest Job in Britain, and need your Vote to help me get hired!

What is the Nicest Job in Britain?

A national competition to find one person to become the nation’s charity champion to travel around Britain and get their hands dirty, working with 40 amazing charities in one year and raising their profiles by rolling up their sleeves, writing blogs and making videos.

Travelling, meeting people, championing causes, writing and making silly videos are four of my favourite activities (counting was never one of them!) I truly believe I would be the perfect fit!

Why you?

I believe that making a difference doesn’t have to be about the big things, sometimes the smallest things can have the biggest impact, be it a well timed ‘how are you?’ and cup of tea or a random act of kindness from a stranger. In these uncertain times it is all too easy to forget that all across our country from Lands End to John O’Groats, there are thousands of people making a difference and doing good things every day. These great people and causes are often under celebrated and this is what makes the Nicest Job in Britain so important.

I was proud to finally qualify as a solicitor in 2013 after years of hard work and study and I am grateful to all those who played a part in that journey. I have long harboured a feeling that in amongst all the leather bound books and mahogany clad rooms (ahem!) there was also something more I could offer the world. For years I have used my spare time presenting on hospital radio, pro bono legal work for charities, organising balls and fundraisers and volunteering for local causes. In 2015 I launched my blog challengealice.com with a challenge to live on a £1 a day and this has since developed into a platform for personal challenge and exploration, promoting causes and teaching me a few life lessons along the way.

The Nicest Job in Britain would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me. My sleeves are rolled up and my bag is packed with a video camera, clean underwear and a notebook spilling full of creative ways to showcase the good work that goes on every day across our country.

How do I help?

Voting is free and literally takes five seconds (believe me I’ve timed it!) all you need to do is follow the link right here and click the button “vote here” below my campaign video.

Can I do any more to help?

If you are kind enough to want to help this shamelessly cheeky 28 year old further then please spread the word on your social media accounts and on e-mail to your friends and family. You can also vote on multiple devices, mobiles, laptops etc. and do so every 24 hours if you so choose!

Thank you for reading to the end, your support is so massively appreciated!

Alice
